Focal is designed with privacy at its core. We don't collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data. Your reading habits, books, and progress stay on your device.

Data Collection

We collect nothing. Focal operates entirely offline and locally on your device. Specifically:

No account or sign-up required
No analytics or tracking
No data sent to our servers (we don't have any)
No third-party SDKs that collect data
No ads or ad tracking

Data Stored on Your Device

All your data stays locally on your iPhone/iPad:

Your imported EPUB and TXT books
Reading progress and bookmarks
Reading statistics and streaks
Achievements you've unlocked
App settings and preferences

This data is stored in the app's private container and is removed if you delete the app.

iCloud

If you have iCloud enabled, iOS may back up your app data as part of your device backup. This is controlled by your iOS settings, not by Focal.

Third Parties

Focal does not share any data with third parties because we don't have any data to share. The app functions entirely offline.

Children's Privacy

Since Focal collects no personal information, it is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. But since our policy is essentially “we collect nothing,” we don't anticipate changes.
